Lose Weight By Becoming a Food Lover

Delicious Food

We all need food - every one of us. Without it we die. But some people can take it or leave it, making eating just something they have to do.

Others love food but it's the kind that doesn't do them any great service. They crave sweet or rich, fatty foods which clog up their arteries and bulk up their waistlines.

True food lovers are those who love to feed themselves quality delicious foods which do their spirit as well as a their body a power of good.

These days excellent quality ingredients are available at low cost in almost every supermarket. And there are piles of delicious healthy recipes available in every bookstore, magazine stand and all over the internet. Why then do so many of us make do with sub-standard food which is less than delicious or nutritious and which piles on the pounds?

1. Habit

Often we have got used to eating a more or less fixed set of meals and rarely look further than what we ate last week or last month when we are deciding what to eat for dinner. In some cases we continue to eat the way we ate in our families as children and can't see farther than that.

How sad is that?

There are no limits to how delicious food can be, but we limit ourselves to a few tried and boring dishes.

2. Lack of Energy

Finding new recipes, shopping for the ingredients and trying them out takes planning and time and sometimes we are just too busy or just can't be bothered with the effort to plan, shop or cook.

Sometimes we end up sending out for pizza or Chinese food because we just haven't got around to planning anything when the "What's for Dinner?" question comes up.

But it doesn't take much to try out one new recipe a week and add something new to your repertoire. Recipes don't have to be elaborate but they can spice up your life and your diet no end.

3. We Don't Realize How Much We Are Missing

Sometimes we just haven't thought about upgrading our food choices to make sure that every snack and meal does us good and we thoroughly enjoy it.

But if you think about it and get yourself organized you can make every meal and snack a life-enhancing experience rather than a pit stop for more (junk) fuel.

Many people who seriously start a healthy eating plan and have to upgrade their choices from their usual fare find that they enjoy their food more than ever before. And it's a surprise to many that you can lose weight and actually enjoy food more than ever.

Losing weight does not have to be about deprivation and restriction. Instead of thinking with dread about not being able to eat this or that, why not forget about banning anything and just make your choices from the huge range of healthy delicious recipes out there waiting for you to enjoy?
