Think Slim, Issue #006 - Question TimeDecember 31, 2004 |
Look great, feel greatHi Now that all the festive eating is over with, it's traditionally time to lose all those extra pounds. No doubt, we'll all be putting ourselves on a strict diet from tomorrow (and giving it up by February). (Thought to self : must remember and polish off that left-over banana cake today...). Seriously, if you would like to keep up your motivation in 2005 and make dieting easier on yourself, look out for an email in the next day or two as I will be offering my new slimming workbook in exchange for doing a quick weight-loss motivation survey. All the best for you and your family in 2005 Love
P.S. There are quite a few postings on the Think Slim blog this month. See them all at http://smallchange.typepad.com/thinkslim. ContentsFeature Article : Question TimeWeight Loss Tip : Hit the Sales Recommendation : Chocolate Busters Feature article : Question TimeInstead of suffering the regret of having eaten something you wish you hadn't (and breaking your dieting resolutions all over again) ask yourself the right questions before you indulge. If you can learn the following questions by heart and run through them quickly in your head whenever temptation strikes, you'll find that you give in to impulse eating much less.
The questions are quick to learn and easy to use and you just need to take them as far as you need each time. You may find question 1 is enough most times. In fact if you JUST learn to use question 1 you'll go a long way! If learning them in a single session sounds too much like hard work, use question 1 all week and then each week add in another question. Let me know how you get on... This month's tip : Hit the SalesDid you know a day of intense shopping can burn 500 calories? What a great excuse! And if you really don't feel like buying clothes (after all they won't fit you for long as you lose those pounds) seek out some great accessories you can use right now to update your look. Just make sure you take some water and fruit so that you don't hit the fast food counters when you need a breather... Recommendation: Chocolate BustersI picked up a copy of Chocolate Busters by Jason Vale recently (chocolate being one of the foods I seem to miss most on a diet). What an eye opener it is about the reasons we are so attached to chocolate and what it actually does (and doesn't) do for us. I'm only half way through the book but already it is making me think twice about reaching for the stuff. As Jason says "Chocolate never gives you what you THOUGHT it was going to" – you just end up feeling worse for having eaten it. Check out the book on amazon.co.uk or amazon.com. Wishing you a fantastic month, looking and feeling great
